Today's Plan โ€” just 5 missions ๐Ÿ’ช

Tip: do these every day. Small steps each day add up to a big, confident you by PSLE! ๐ŸŒŸ

โœ‚๏ธ Punctuation Patrol & Sentence Cutter

A Monster Sentence has escaped! It's too long and has NO punctuation. Use the Scissors to cut it into short, punchy sentences, and drop in punctuation from the palette.

๐Ÿ“– Learn first: how to defeat a Monster Sentence
  • One idea = one sentence. When a NEW idea, action or speaker begins โ€” CUT! โœ‚๏ธ
  • Spot the joining words that monsters love: and, then, so, because. A cut often belongs just before them.
  • Use a comma (,) for a small pause inside a sentence โ€” in lists, or before and/but joining two ideas.
  • End excitement with ! and questions with ?
  • โœ… Good: The bell rang. Everyone dashed out. โŒ Monster: the bell rang and everyone dashed out and then we ran to the canteen andโ€ฆ

Pick a tool, then click the gap between two words.

โšก The Climax Coach

A great climax uses short, fast sentences to build tension. Write exactly 3 short sentences โ€” the boxes will stop you from rambling!

๐Ÿ“– Learn first: the Action-Beat formula

The climax is the MOST exciting moment โ€” so the sentences must move FAST. Long sentences slow the reader down; short ones make hearts race! Use this 3-beat formula:

  1. The Action โ€” what suddenly happens? A shadow loomed.
  2. The Feeling โ€” show the BODY's reaction, don't name the emotion. Her heart hammered against her ribs. (not "she was very scared" โŒ)
  3. The Sound/Impact โ€” one sharp sensory detail. Crash!

Power verbs to steal: sprinted, lunged, froze, trembled, slammed, snatched, screamed, crashed.

1๏ธโƒฃ The Action

What suddenly happens? e.g. A shadow loomed.

2๏ธโƒฃ The Feeling (Show, Don't Tell)

3๏ธโƒฃ The Sound / Impact

What sensory detail lands? e.g. Crash!

๐ŸŽ€ The Conclusion Crafter

End your story strongly with the Idiom Formula: โ‘  The Setup (what was learnt) โ†’ โ‘ก The Idiom โ†’ โ‘ข The Final Thought.

๐Ÿ“– Learn first: the Idiom Formula

A conclusion wraps up the LESSON of the story โ€” never end with "โ€ฆand then I went home." โŒ Use the 3-step formula:

  1. The Setup โ€” what did the character learn? That day, I learnt that hard work always pays off.
  2. The Idiom โ€” introduce it with a transition: Indeed, as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain". / ไฟ—่ฏ่ฏด๏ผŒ"ไธ€ๅˆ†่€•่€˜๏ผŒไธ€ๅˆ†ๆ”ถ่Žท"ใ€‚
  3. The Final Thought โ€” one short, hopeful sentence about the future. From then on, I always gave my best in everything I did.

Pick an idiom that MATCHES your story's theme โ€” an idiom about honesty doesn't fit a story about teamwork!

Pick an idiom and drag (or click) it into your draft ๐Ÿ‘‡

โ˜๏ธ Sync across devices

๐Ÿ“– One-time Firebase setup (about 3 minutes)
  1. Authentication: Firebase console โ†’ Build โ†’ Authentication โ†’ Get started โ†’ Sign-in method โ†’ Google โ†’ Enable (pick a support email), Save.
  2. Authorized domains: still under Authentication โ†’ Settings โ†’ Authorized domains, add the website where you host this app (e.g. green-sprouts.pages.dev). localhost is already allowed.
  3. Firestore: Build โ†’ Firestore Database โ†’ Create database (Production mode). Then Rules, paste this and Publish โ€” each account can only touch its own data:
    rules_version = '2';
    service cloud.firestore {
      match /databases/{database}/documents {
        match /gs_state/{uid} {
          allow read, write: if request.auth != null
                             && request.auth.uid == uid;
        }
      }
    }
  4. Config: Project settings โ†’ General โ†’ Your apps โ†’ Web app (create one if needed), copy the firebaseConfig, and paste it above. (Tip: paste it into firebase-config.js once and every device skips this step.)
  5. Tap Sign in with Google here, and on her other devices. Done โ€” same account, same progress, everywhere! ๐ŸŽ‰

The Google account is the login. Each account's data is private to that account (enforced by the rules above). The Firebase config is safe to ship โ€” it isn't a secret.
